PRECIMECA TYRE SHREDDERS

Shredded tyres (Tyre Shredding / TDF – Tyre Derived Fuel) are widely used as an alternative fuel in the cement industry. Thanks to their high lower heating value (approximately 25–30 MJ/kg), they can partially replace fossil fuels such as coal and petcoke. The high temperatures (≥1,450 °C) and long residence times in cement kilns ensure complete combustion of the tyres, while the metallic components they contain are incorporated into the clinker structure. In this way, waste disposal is achieved while CO₂ emissions and fuel costs are reduced, contributing to the circular economy.

Precimeca  tyre shredder machines are industrial equipment designed to process end-of-life tyres in a controlled manner for use in the cement industry and other sectors. These machines are typically designed as single-shaft, twin-shaft, or multi-stage systems and can shred tyres into the desired sizes (for example, 50–300 mm). With their high-torque, low-speed operation, they safely and efficiently process steel-reinforced tyres. The shredding line is supported by pre-shredding, magnetic separation (steel wire removal), and screening units, enabling the production of a homogeneous material suitable for use as alternative fuel (TDF) in cement kilns.
