Acoustic Gas Temperature and Flow Measurement
The system determines the average gas temperature and flow velocity along a defined path within a duct. The speed of sound is measured both with and against the direction of the gas flow. By applying the duct’s cross-sectional area, the gas velocity is converted into volumetric flow. Since the gas temperature is measured simultaneously, the actual gas volume is accurately calculated, enabling enthalpy measurement.
KEY FEATURES AT A GLANCE
+ High accuracy
A measurement accuracy of less than 3 °C provides a solid foundation for optimized process control.
+ Fast response
The acoustic measuring principle enables rapid response times of under one second.
+ Wide measuring range
With a temperature range from 0 to 900 °C (extendable on request), the system is suitable for a broad variety of applications. One instrument covers multiple use cases.
+ Durable construction
The use of advanced, chemically inert ceramic materials ensures reliable operation in harsh environments and protects the sensor element against corrosion.
+ Unaffected by thermal radiation
The specialized measurement technique prevents disturbances from radiant heat. GASTEMP measures the true gas temperature.
+ Simple integration
Equipped with an industry-standard 4–20 mA interface, the system can be easily integrated into PLCs or other process control systems.
