COOLERCOOL™ - GAS COOLING IN CLINKER COOLER BEDS
The gas cooling can also be achieved inside the cooler to control the gas temperature before process filter. The red river and/or the bulks falling from rotary kiln can create an instant excessive uncontrolled temperature increases that risk process filter as well as other system equipments. The COOLERCOOL™ systems are the perfect solutions for high temperatures in the cooler.
The Clinker Cooler Evaporative Gas Cooling Systems - COOLERCOOL™ incorporates the latest technological advances in the application of hydraulic water spray systems. All proprietary and third-party equipment has been chosen for its durability, ease of maintenance, and proven design for this particular application. It is then integrated into a single, consistent package according to sound, field-proven engineering practices.
Outstanding features of the COOLERCOOL™ gas cooling system may be summarized as follows:
*Lowest available energy consumption, best available atomization.
*Lances fitted with inbuilt basket strainer to eliminate nozzle clogging and enhance nozzle life.
*Ultra clog-resistant fog jet spray nozzles which need the least manual attention and maintenance.
*Precision machined nozzles for optimum performance and wear.
*Control piping system features all welded construction.
*Pre-wired, pre-piped components for lower cost installation and commissioning.
*Highest quality components with easy maintenance and low pressure drop.

COOLERCOOL™ systems can contain one, two, three or more reciprocal spray lance banks where each bank is called as one spray group.
The standard configuration is made of 4 lances (2 banks) which enables 3 modes when spraying.
1ST stage spray :
The first stage of water spray consists of the 1st lance bank with 2 nozzles, the total water flow rate in this stage will be XX LPM. These nozzles will be in operation alone when the temperature of gas rises above 330 °C, or at the set temperature point, and reduce the temperature down to 280 °C. These nozzles will stop if the temperature of the vent gases falls below 280 ºC.
2ND stage spray :
The second stage of water spray includes the 2nd lance bank with 2 higher capacity nozzles than XX LPM, the total water flow rate in this stage will be YY LPM. These nozzles will be in operation alone when the temperature of gas crosses above 360 °C, or, if the 1st stage nozzles cannot reduce alone the temperature in the 1st stage for a period of 5 – 8 minutes (time interval can be set up to 15 minutes). The 2nd stage nozzles will cut off when the temperature falls below 280 °C.
3RD stage spray :
The 3rd stage of water spray is a combination of the 1st and 2nd stages. If the temperature of gas continues to increase and cross 400 °C, or, if the 2nd stage nozzles cannot reduce alone the temperature in the 2nd stage for a period of 5 – 8 minutes (time interval can be set up to 15 minutes). The 3rd stage nozzles will cut off when the temperature falls below 280 °C.
NOTE : All above mentioned temperature values are indicative, and the set points are precisely calculated according to need of the system parameters.
COOLERCOOL™ standard configuration consists of a skid mounted pump and valve station, pre-wired and weatherproof terminal boxes & two sets new generation spray lance assemblies. Each lance banks are connected as two independent nozzle banks, which can be in operation or cut out of operation through the automated ON/OFF valves from the PLC.
Air purging through the nozzles is essential to keep them free from any dust particles in the cooler. COOLERCOOL™ uses a roots-blower that is located on the cooler floor/platform or above the cooler roof, and is connected to each of the lances through non-return valves. The blower operates only when any or all of the spray stages are off, and it stops when any spray stage is on operation.
