MILLCOOL™ - WATER INJECTION TO CEMENT MILLS
Cooling Control® MILLCOOL™ evaporative cooling systems are ready packages , easy to install and economical.
The clinker grinding in the cement mills is an essential process where the temperature of mill discharge has to be at its optimum value around 90° - 120° C. The usual heat sometimes becomes excessive which results in deterioration of cement quality. If the temperature arises above 125°C, it causes dehydration of gypsum leading to change the characteristics of finish cement quality. If the temperature is below 90°C, then wet clogging of gypsum and cement strength problems appear.
MILLCOOL™ water injection is a tailor made system, ready to use as a complete package unit to guarantee mill outlet set temperature.
MILLCOOL™ systems enable perfect control for temperature, so the risk of finish cement quality problems are eliminated.
MILLCOOL™ - WATER INJECTION TO CEMENT MILLS
The water injection can be performed three different locations. Each location is studied according to cement mill design, so that the spray lance and its fixings/bearings are manufactured to fit in place.
The system operates automatically in respect to mill temperature, and the purge air is envisaged for purging of the lances while they are not spraying. The cooling media is only water spray without compressed air.
Water injection takes place without the use of compressed air for atomisation. Compressed air, however, must be used for purging purpose through the nozzle. All internal instruments within the skid are wired and terminated in a junction box installed on the pump skid itself.
The compressed air is envisaged for purging of the lances, while they are not spraying. Since the volume requirement of air is minimal, we have not envisaged for the supply of a dedicated compressor for this application, this could be tapped from the plant air available with the customer.
